![]() ![]() On Mac OS X prior to 10.7, you need to use the x32 version of VueScan 9.0.96 with Rosetta. This scanner isn't supported on Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) and later, since Canon uses a PowerPC plugin for this scanner and Rosetta isn't available with 10.7 and later. i spend 2 days and my conclusion is a) i am not system level good enough to implement whatever hacks proposed and/or my system is an exception. i tried several adapters and drivers and hacks. on my system i get a kernel panic regardless of 32-bit mode, sip turned off and whatever. Unfortunately, Canon doesn't have a driver for this scanner on Windows 圆4. appreciate your help but none of the above mentioned drivers work on 10.11.5. However, silver-based black/white film doesn't work with infrared cleaning because the silver particles look the same in visible light and infrared light. Infrared cleaning works well with all types of color negative and color slide film, including Kodachrome. It scans with visible light in the first pass and with infrared light in the second pass. This is similar to (and we think better than) the ICE and FARE algorithms. VueScan's 'Filter | Infrared clean' option can be used to remove dust spots from film scans. This scanner has an infrared lamp for scanning film. ![]() ![]() If VueScan isn't working with the Firewire cable, try a USB cable, try a different Firewire port or a different Firewire cable. VueScan is compatible with the Canon 9900F on Windows x86 and Mac OS X.
